Zahia Adlina Zamri is an experienced legal practitioner in various legal domains. Graduating with LL.B (Hons.) from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), she was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in October 2017.

With a predominant focus on litigation matters, she has amassed a wealth of experience in a wide array of legal facets. Her extensive repertoire includes offering legal opinions and counsel on an extensive range of areas including matters related to constructions, land, private and commercial contracts, banking and insolvency, probate and administration and various other areas.

Banking
  • Acted on behalf of financial institutions to retrieve outstanding debts associated with retail and commercial loans/financing, both Islamic and Conventional models including foreclosure proceedings and other relevant actions covering i.e hire purchase, credit cards, and housing loans.
  • Rendered legal opinion to the bank concerning matters governed by the Hire Purchase Act on the procedures related to repossession of the vehicle.
  • Rendered legal opinion to the Bank on the legal effects and procedures for customer accounts involved in fraud investigation.
  • Participated in a training program with the Association of Islamic Banking and Financial Institutions of Malaysia (AIBIM) focused on Dispute Resolution in Islamic Finance.
Litigation
  • Represented various clients on matters pertaining to contractual disputes, tort of defamation, trespass, constructions, housing tribunals, estate, trademark infringements, winding up.
  • Successfully set aside a CIPAA (Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act) award at the High Court of Malaya
  • Successfully defended an appeal at the Court of Appeal representing a private company based in Italy in a matter involving international trade of goods
  • Successfully represented a Property Developer in the removal of a Registrar’s Caveat on a parcel of land involved in a land fraud case
  • Represented a private equity firm in a winding up proceeding against London Biscuits Berhad
  • Acted for public universities for various contract disputes in relation to scholarships and loans, employment and other relevant affairs
  • Represented Kuala Lumpur City Council (DBKL) for various contractual disputes, recovery of payments i.e rental, maintenance fee, assessment fee, property damage and construction matters
  • Acted for a Malaysian based fintech company for a trademark and copyright dispute
  • Acted for marine machineries service provider based in Malaysia for a claim of breach of contract
  • Rendered legal opinion for a public listed company that operate hotels and resorts in Malaysia pertaining to the matters under Capital Markets and Services Act (CMSA) i.e market manipulations.
  • Represented a Joint Management Body in defending a claim against a Trust Body concerning properties held under the Orang Asli trust
  • Represented a Financial Institution in defending against a negligence suit

  • Delivered a talk to DBKL legal and prosecution unit officers on relevant legal procedures under section 151 of the Local Government Act 1976
  • Delivered a training to DBKL officers on court procedures and legal documentations for various type of legal actions initiated by DBKL
